For several decades, scientists in the field of technology have been trying to implement
the idea of combining the real world with a virtual world in one's daily life. Virtual (VR)
and augmented (AR) reality are a vital part of the Tech Industry; recently, one of the
largest technology companies has started a race of billions of investments in this
technology.
The purpose of this thesis is to research available tools and systems for the
development of Augmented Reality (AR) applications, as well as the result of a fully
functional application for mobile devices using this technology. The application aims to
improve the user's online point of interest browsing experience with mobile devices.
The implementation of the application was done with React Native, a JavaScript
framework that enables us to convert the original code into a programming language
that supports the Android and iOS SDKs.
Finally, for real-time data storage and synchronization, we use Firebase, a platform
developed by Google for creating mobile applications.
