The topic of the thesis is "the sea bed mining of carbohydrates at the hellenic seas" We start of by describing the nature of the materials extracted and then we continue by presenting the methods mostly used to discover available resources (seismic 2D-3D). The next chapter deals with the legal requirements and nomenclature that govern the environmental aspects of the exploration and mining process and we conclude by making an extensive report on the emissions that are produced during the exploitation period and the systems used to monitor them.
