The supply chain is a critical part of the economy and the smooth movement of important goods. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was realized that a supply chain must be reliable, functioning properly and keeping pace with technological developments in order to adapt to any critical moment. In the present thesis, a literature review is carried out on the consequences of health crises, and in particular the Covid-19 pandemic in the global supply chain, with special emphasis on transport. The rapid spread of the pandemic has brought huge changes to the organizational structures of the supply chain and lays the foundation for how the Logistics industry will operate in the future. There is also a reference to the theory of what the supply chain is and how it interacts with society in general. Finally, information on how freight transport was affected, how the food supply chain and e-commerce evolved and a brief report on how the Logistics sector in Greece was affected, are presented.
