Abstract

The application presents the user a visual environment representing the Covid-19 pandemic. The user will be able to see immediate details for which regional units, on any given day, have a lot of cases and which have less. An interactive map of Greece will be used where Greece will be divided into Regional Units. Each Regional Unit, according to the number of daily new cases, will be colored accordingly so that the user can have an overview of which areas have a lot of cases and which areas have fewer cases. In addition, information about the population, the number of new cases and the ratio of new cases to the total population will be provided for each Regional Unit. This is a Web based application which means that it will be able to be accessed from anywhere if the user has access to the internet. As soon as the user taps on the url of the application, the map of Greece will be shown, colored per Regional Unit based on the number of cases and by double clicking on the point of interest, the map will zoom and present some predefined statistics. The default data will be the population of the geographical area, the new cases and the ratio of new cases to total population which will range from zero to one. Zero will represent no new cases on that day and one will represent that the entire population has become ill on that particular day, something that is practically impossible to happen. This specific application also tries to record the population trends to be vaccinated or not. The user must first register in the application and create an account in order to use the interactive map. During the registration process the user is presented with three predefined options with related questions regarding vaccination intention. The user must select an option for the account to be created. A link will then be mailed to the email address entered originally. When the user clicks on the link the registration will be complete.
