Data visualisation is now considered a valuable tool for understanding the vast amount of information that surrounds us. The choice of mapping can help to achieve this goal. A map has the potential to present a large amount of information covering both quantitative and spatial aspects of the data. To prove this purpose, data which were selected from a collection of musical documents were chosen. More specifically, the region of Thrace, rich in musical tradition, with music and songs that have their roots in antiquity, is the source of the content of the application to be studied. Songs and music from the region of Evros are visualized and presented in a map and an accompanying application for the presentation of the documents. The usefulness of databases is demonstrated through this application, the subpages of which are supported and created exclusively using the content stored in the database tables. The following text presents all the details related to the design and implementation of the application for mapping content derived from a music collection, but which can be considered suitable for any type of collection.
