Teaching and learning mathematical concepts and cultivating mathematical skills in
preschool children is a constant challenge for both teachers and children. The research
concerns the contribution of technology to the development of mathematical skills in
Kindergarten school. At the same time, studying executive skills, such as attention concentration, autonomy and cultivation of children's interest, helped us collect
important findings for their performance in mathematical activities.
For this purpose, courses were organized, including mathematical activities, both on
Kinems Digital Educational Platform and a non-technologically supported environment.
The observation calendars, based on the GAS scale (Goal Attainment Scale), presented
important findings that highlight the benefits of using digital educational games in the
educational process.
The students of Kindergarten school in Nisyros, who participated in the present study,
presented greater autonomy, more interest and attention, with the selected games on
Kinems educational platform. Similarly, the findings of the research have shown that
students' performance were ranged at a very good level, completing everything and in a
shorter period of time than the non-technologically supported teaching, which was
based on worksheets, play-doh and more.
Finally, the utilization of digital educational games on Kinems platform encouraged the
participation of children and increased their engagement in mathematical
activities/games in Kindergarten school.
