The current thesis focuses on the anatomy of organizational ambidexterity from both theoretical and practical perspectives, researching the factors that affect it, the ways that can be applied in an organization, and the effects that have on it. It is divided into two parts. One focuses on theoretical research and the other one on practical. The first part is divided in four chapters. In the first chapter, the definition and history of ambidexterity are analyzed and so do the scholars which are connected with it. In the second chapter, the terms exploration and exploitation are introduced as also the factors that affect their balance. In the third chapter, there is a reference to the strategies that support organizations to successfully apply ambidexterity, while the fourth chapter is referred to the results of it. Lastly, the fifth and final chapter, the case study of Chipita International, is focused on how the company succeeds to be an ambidextrous organization through its structure and activities.
