The current global energy crisis has turned everyone 's interest into the energy markets, and more specifically into the gas fuels’ energy markets. The paradox of said markets is that they include both the Natural Gas market, tectonic structure of which is currently affected and the markets for the renewable fuels (Hydrogen, Biomethane), which are expected to dominate the next decades, expecting the right political and legislative approach. This study is an attempt to present all gas fuels and classified them into two main categories, the conventional and the renewable fuels. The markets’ data and forecasts are presented in both, European and national levels. For further presentation and analysis were selected a) the Natural gas market which is currently dominant and fully developed, and b) the Hydrogen market which is under development and is expected to be the main future gas market. The structure and the operation of the above markets is highlighted through the analysis of the European and the national policies, legislative and regulatory approaches, as well as the examination of the individual market segments (production, transport, distribution, supply).
