Considering an image as big data object, tools and techniques of big data manipulation are considered in order a live imega streaming to be encrypted. This thesis, is considering the introduction of parallel computation on an image encryption and decryption (and in general for encrypting a live image streaming). The algorithms that are considered in order to achieve the parallelizable nature of the computations are the block ciphers and the parallel designed chaotic ciphers. An application was created -using some specific tools- in order to implement the introduction big data tools using parallel computations on encryption and decryption of a live image streaming.
