Abstract
This Master Thesis examines the Strategy of Energy Studies, emphasizing the
case study concerning the energy upgrade of the Kastoria Hospital. Initially, the energy
efficiency of the buildings is studied, examining both the prevailing situation in Greece
and in the international arena. Then, in the second chapter, we talk about energy service
companies in Greece, emphasizing the application of ESCOs in public sector buildings.
Furthermore, an economic-technical study of energy upgrade of the Kastoria Hospital
is carried out and certain scenarios of financing and repayment of the necessary
expenses are formed.
In order to develop the issue under consideration, a bibliographic search is
being carried out on international scientific databases, with an emphasis on scientific
journals dealing with energy saving issues, as well as studies on energy saving
interventions in public buildings. In the second part of the work, the excel program is
used to carry out the feasibility study. Cost saving simulation was applied based on
TEE KENAK program, according to the data appeared in the study.
