Today's fast pace of life and the trend for "less cooking at home" have favored the consumption of ready meals. Despite the adverse effects of the financial crisis, there were signs of recovery in the ready meals industry, with the value of the domestic market following an upward trend in recent years.
In this diploma thesis, an effort is made to analyze the environment of alfa pastry company. An analytical approach is made using the strategic management model to select the most appropriate strategy for the company.
The first chapter presents in detail the theoretical background of the strategic management model. The second chapter presents the historical background, the legal framework and the current state of the ready meals industry in Greece. The third chapter presents the alfa pastry, through its history, structure, products, vision, mission and values, research and development, distribution network and finally its excellences. The fourth chapter presents the external environment of the company through the analysis of the natural, generalized and immediate environment. In the fifth chapter follows the reference to the internal environment of the company, identifying its structure, culture and resources. The sixth chapter presents the SWOT analysis and the seventh highlights the current strategy of the company. In the eighth and last chapter the analysis of alternative strategies based on the SWOT analysis is done, with the help of the TOWS matrix, and the final conclusions are drawn.
