Leadership’s role is very important on the growth and better performance of an organization. The present study examines the relationship of transformational leadership style with job satisfaction in retail store employees, considering gender, age, level of education, years of service, years of service in current work, team size and the type of retail store in which respondents operate. The survey involved a total of 150 retail sales workers who answered questions about their manager’s Transformational Leadership Style (TLI Questionnaire) and their Job Satisfaction (MSQ Questionnaire). The results show that there is a strong perception of transformational leadership among employees in retail stores, where inspirational motivation is the most perceived dimension of transformational leadership. In terms of job satisfaction, the results show that employees in retail stores are quite satisfied with a key element of their satisfaction being the utilization of their capabilities. Overall, the results show a high correlation between transformational leadership and job satisfaction in retail stores. Finally, suggestions are made for future research as well as an analysis of the practical implications of research in retail business.
