Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the emerging Crowdfunding phenomenon, which is a new method of web-based fundraising in which individuals contribute money through specialized electronic platforms. In particular, the main purpose of this thesis is to analyze and understand the different forms of funding and the standards they follow. Specifically, the study is intended to analyze the models of these platforms as well as the usage scenarios and their structure. This is also the main research problem of this dissertation. In order to solve the above research problem, a specific methodological approach was followed which included a thorough bibliographic review and analysis of the various forms of Crowdfunding platforms using analysis tools, such as UML charts and the use of the Business Process Model diagrams (BPM).
