The present thesis takes under consideration the technological innovation in the field of Informatics and it exploits the modern curricula of Web Programming. With the aid of ACM Organization [1], which is one of the biggest scientific computing society which share resources (via papers, research, books etc.), we try to enlarge the discussion about the curricula adjustment of the particular field.
The thesis is divided in four (4) particular parts. In the first one (chapters 1, 2), it analyzes the Science of Informatics by emphasizing in modern educational approaches, like “blended” learning and the alternative “student-based” learning. In the second part (chapter 3), based on ACM, we analyze the suggested curricula of 5 defined sub-disciplines of computing (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering) although we focus on Web Programming which is actually part of Software Engineering studies. In here, we also examine the modification of the courses during the years.
Continuing in chapter 4, the thesis proposes a full curricula for web programming studies according with ACM and modern teaching methods. This program would be a Seminar-like program for adult students who want to learn how to be a web developer or simply want to refresh/expand their knowledges. Finally, chapters 5 presents the conclusions of modern curricula and modern educational approaches which will concern the educational community in the nearly future.
