Foreign direct investment in countries of the organisation for econοmic co-operation and development
The aim of this particular thesis is to explain the term foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as to analyse firstly at the theoretical part of the research/dissertation everything related to the FDI and then at the empirical part, through the study of a specific FDI model (USA 1985-2004) to examine the factors which determine the MNE decision to establish an FDI. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organization of those most advanced countries which support the principles of representative democracy and of a free market economy. It was first established in 1948 as the Organization for European Economic Co-operation but over time other, non-European countries joined the organization which was officially born and given its current name in 1960 and now consists of 33 member countries.
