The aim of this particular thesis is to explain the term foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as to analyse firstly at the theoretical part of the research/dissertation everything related to the FDI and then at the empirical part, through the study of a specific FDI model (USA 1985-2004) to examine the factors which determine the MNE decision to establish an FDI.
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organization of those most advanced countries which support the principles of representative democracy and of a free market economy. It was first established in 1948 as the Organization for European Economic Co-operation but over time other, non-European countries joined the organization which was officially born and given its current name in 1960 and now consists of 33 member countries.
