This dissertation thesis presents the handling of animal by-products, according to current legislation and both the financial and environmental issues. Furthermore, the current situation in Greece and possible investment solutions, are given. Finally, analysis of an investment plan for an animal by-product neutralisation unit, is attempted. Firstly, the historical background plus the causes that led to the introduction of severe rules on handling animal origin by-products, are described. Moreover, an analysis of the effects of those rules, is attempted, and the existing conditions in Greece are reffered. At the same time, the investigative methods of various investment possibilities and their limitations, are analyzed. Furthermore, the necessary conditions for the success of an investment plant, are defined, followed by the logistical results of our research, in regard with an investment on an animal by-product neutralisation unit. Finally, the results of the research with both various techniques and SWOT analysis and money flow analysis, are evaluated.
