Today’s increasingly competitive business world implies that a highly motivated workforce is vital for any organization seeking to achieve good results. However, workers’ and managers’ goals may not be always precisely the same. Therefore, what managers must aim for is getting the individual’s goals as close as possible to those of the organization. Motivating individuals means creating an environment in which they can satisfy their goals. Therefore, the motivation of the workforce can be a fundamental challenge for an organization’s management. The present study examines the motivation of the workforce and focuses in a comparison analysis between the hotels in Greece and other countries.
