This master thesis deals with the design and development of an information system for the management and publishing of scientific e-journals. Following a survey of the existing open source e-journal management and publishing systems we chose the OJS platform, which was customized in order to meet the needs of the management and publishing of “AgroResearch”, a scientific journal in the field of Agricultural Research. The user of the e-journal management system (editor, author, reviewer or reader), without any prior knowledge of the platform, can easily access the system and use it effectively according to the tasks assigned to him by the journal manager: user and role management, manuscript submission, peer review, copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, production or publication.
