Abstract
Our time has been wisely characterized by many as the information age, as humanity is overwhelmed by a multitude of different forms of surrounding information (Internet, television, telephony, etc.). The tendency of humans to continual information access at any place and any time increases on a daily basis, which pushes telecommunication networks to their capacity limits and operators to proceed to additional investments in their networks. This is the main reason for the rapid changes occurring in the telecommunications industry, as the increasing traffic demand is contributing to the continuous design of new more efficient technologies and the development of networks with very high data transmission capacities.
The aim of the project is the study of operational cost for mobile providers with emphasis on energy consumption. New technologies in the mobile telecommunication industry have significant impact on economy and environment worldwide. Global economic development needs technologies that will be able to provide solutions regarding financial, environmental as well as energy issues. The renewable energy sources offer stable and long-term profits for the business.
