This thesis has as subject, the Greek Investments made in four Balkan countries (Albania , Bulgaria , Romania , Serbia) focusing and analyzing instead the case of Albania .
The first chapter is an introduction to the concept of FDI . Presented reasons FDI , the forms and types of FDI , the theoretical approaches for their interpretation , their impact in the host country and the country of origin , the characteristics of episeiriseon operating FDI , their significance for developing countries , the trend of FDI in international environment and how invested by Greek enterprises abroad.
The second chapter is an effort evaluation and assessment of Global Markets . Following analysis of the data elements that contribute to selection of attractive potential market and all the risks it undertakes a business in International environment. Then the criteria examined epilongis appropriate business strategy of penetration in foreign markets and are the functions of the business.
The third chapter is an analysis of the Balkan region . Listed some historical data of the specified region as the demographic characteristics of the region . It analyzes the legal framework for investment in the Balkan countries , followed by a SWOT analysis for the Balkan region . Then out some examples of Greek enterprises in the Balkans , and the Greek plan for economic reconstruction of the Balkans. Finally, it details the way in which the economic crisis has affected the Balkans.
The fourth chapter presents the financial situation of the Balkan countries , focusing on macroeconomic overview of the Southeast European countries from 1990 to 2007 and analyzed in depth the global crisis and how the countries of Southeastern Europe reacted.Reference is made to the social aspect of the crisis and its consequences.
The fifth chapter deals with three of the four countries under study. It analyzes the case of Bulgaria, Romania and FYROM. For each of these countries listed some general information. Then follows an analysis of the economic environment through the evolution of some macroeconomic indicators and then indicate the temporal evolution of Foreign Direct Investment and the temporal course of Greek investments in individual countries. Finally mentioned both the incentives and disincentives to investment in those countries.
Finally the last chapter analyzes the Albanian case. Presented some general information about the country, examined key sectors such as transport there, and the political situation in
the neighboring country is analyzed . Albanian relations are then listed by International Organizations , followed by analysis of the country's economic environment through the course of some macroeconomic indicators. Then, detailing the imports accepts Albania , Foreign Direct Investment in the country and the Greek investments made there. Presented incentives - disincentives for someone to invest in the region and presented a SWOT analysis for that country.
