In this thesis, we create an intelligent virtual world that gives substance to an artificial economy. The virtual world is populated by intelligent agents, who in order to satisfy their needs, and by using a hierarchical goal system, are engaged in collecting resources from the environment, processing and trading them.
This simulation model, based on the fundamental principles concerning economic and commercial relationships observed in transactions, manages to convey the dynamics of an actual microeconomy, while deepening the approach of intelligent agents acting on the basis of fulfilling their needs and achieving their objectives.
