The present study attempts to measure the degree of total professional satisfaction of the IKA- ETAM permanent administrative staff working at the sub units of the Organization. It also attempts to record all those factors that affect in a positive or negative way the configuration of total satisfaction and the effect of demographical characteristics in each one of the side dimensions of professional satisfaction as well as its whole. The term professional satisfaction defines the positive emotional state which a person reaches when all his/hers professional expectations are fulfilled. The survey took place between January and March 2010 in 10 sub units, three of which in the municipality of Achaia and seven in the municipality of Attica. The sample consists of 205 permanent administrative staff employed in these ten sub units and was randomly selected. A questionnaire of nine units, including that of the demographical characteristics, was used to conduct the survey. The majority of the replied answers were provided by using the five point Likert scale (1= totally disagree up to 5=totally agree). The results of the survey show that the administrative staff of IKA is generally satisfied with their job and can effectively cooperate and communicate with their colleagues of the same or upper level of the Organization. On the other hand the working environment, building facilities and further learning opportunities provided by the Organization do not meet their expectations. The level of communication between the staff and the insured is considered to be decent, although they would rather not have any direct contact with the public. Furthermore, the staff can not see any particular professional prospect in the future and they are not content with their wages. Overall, the staff is neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with their job and they appear to be positive in chang their working environment. In conclusion, employees in IKA- ETAM appear to be neither satisfied nor dissatisfied from their job, while they feel that improvements in factors such as building facilities, education provision, wages and professional opportunities could increase their job satisfaction.
