The effectiveness of the measures aiming to the protection from vessel source marine pollution is greatly dependent on the efficiency of the relevant liability and compensation legal regime. The present paper examines the current legal regime and how it is implemented, from an international perspective but also from a European and Greek law perspective, in order to evaluate current provisions and also find solutions and propose measures that could contribute to the optimization thereof.
