The purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of the information systems in the modern age in connection with the dimensions that can be acquired in a business application. The research of the work and the deepening in the inner parts of the supplied chain as well as in the modern ways of minimizing the cost has been undertaken through the example of the a Greek company. In a modern information system, the capabilities of expanding its activities along with the capabilities of better performance for the existing ones are provided. The thesis describes the research, the analysis and the development stages of an information system for a dairy product company. Initially the case study of the company is provided. This case includes the goals and primary requirements, in order to meet the criteria of the information system that is being produced. Thereafter a record of the requirements is held with case scenarios, analyzing the functions and advancing in development issues with specific details. By the end of the aforementioned analysis the design of the architecture, the data warehouse and the technologies that are about to be used for the development and build of the system. Finally, the manual of instructions and functions for the basic procedures covered by the information system, are provided.
