Abstract

In this paper we examine and analyze the technology and the architecture of Cloud Computing, as well as the future financial impact of its diffusion both in Greece and the European Union as well as the economic interactions between them. Greece is subjected to the Medium Term Financial Strategy 2012 - 2015 which leads to a new growth model, where exports and private investment will be the main growth sectors. Improving the competitiveness of Greek products and services, will be a key success factor for this transition. This means that Greek firms should focus their efforts on reducing costs and increasing the added value of products and services, while the state should minimize the administrative burden imposed on the economy. The diffusion of Cloud Computing is a technological fact which has great potential to assist these efforts. Our focus will be primarily on the theoretical impact of this innovation, the creation of new businesses and products, the empirical evidence on the impact of its entry into the European economy, and the effects of policies that support the adoption of Cloud Computing. Also, the business plan that is documented and analyzed in this paper is an essential tool for any business that wants to enter the field of Computing and IT through Cloud Computing especially those located in Greece. We will reach our economic goal by reducing the cost of required infrastructure needed by the customers in storage and managing the produced software, enhancing the easy accessibility as well as lots of other innovations which we will be mentioned later in the paper.
