Abstract
Comics’s traditional format was printed. Comics are a very popular medium which has been regarded as a new form of art. In the education, comics can play important role. Nowadays, comics in digital format have started to be become very popular. Computer based authoring tools give the possibility of easy creation comic in digital form. This MSc thesis presents the development process of a tool for creating characters for digital comics. This tool can be used by users who do not have talent in sketching. Also, the tool aims to be used in educational settings by users (teachers and students) who can create their desired characters for their digital stories in comics form. The tool was developed with the Adobe Flash technology, and the powerful language of Actionscript 3, in combination with the XML language.
