This thesis presents the study, design and development of CINEHUB, an integrated and
secure web platform for the management of cinema services. The system addresses the
fragmentation of information that characterises the current landscape, unifying movie
discovery, online ticket booking and social interaction through ratings and reviews within a
single infrastructure.
Architecturally, the platform follows the Client-Server (N-Tier) model. The presentation layer
(Frontend) was developed with the React.js library, delivering a responsive Single Page
Application (SPA) experience. The business logic layer (Backend) is built on the Spring Boot
(Java) framework, while data management is handled through Spring Data JPA over a
relational database. System security is enforced by Spring Security and JSON Web Tokens
(JWT), providing stateless authentication and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
The main functional characteristics include, for the customer: dynamic movie search (including
voice search), interactive seat selection driven by heuristic algorithms, purchase of
concession products and automatic issuing of a digital ticket (PDF with QR Code). For the
administrator: bulk scheduling of screenings with automatic conflict detection, dynamic hall
mapping and live monitoring of bookings.
Finally, the thesis relates the implementation to the international literature in the fields of
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Future extensions are
proposed, such as the integration of recommender systems, the development of native mobile
applications and the connection to real payment gateways.
