This thesis investigates the development of applications based on intelligent systems for supporting
the digital management of medical information and enhancing the independent living of individuals
requiring healthcare monitoring. The adoption of modern technologies in the healthcare sector has
created new opportunities for monitoring patients' health conditions, accelerating clinical decisionmaking, and improving the quality of healthcare services.
The continuous evolution of information systems and artificial intelligence applications has
significantly influenced the fields of biomedicine and healthcare. These technologies enable more
efficient management of medical data, early identification of potential health issues, and greater
autonomy for individuals with limited mobility or those requiring continuous health monitoring.
Within the scope of this thesis, a multi-user web application was developed, focusing on the
digitalization and creation of electronic health records through the use of artificial intelligence. The
application enables patients to upload medical documents, such as diagnoses, laboratory reports, and
prescriptions, in PDF or image format. These documents are automatically analyzed by an artificial
intelligence model, which extracts the most relevant medical information and generates a structured
electronic medical history. At the same time, patients retain full control over their personal health
data and can securely share their medical history with authorized physicians, who are granted readonly access to the information.
The application was implemented using Spring Boot, Vaadin, and Microsoft SQL Server, while the
representation of medical information follows the international HL7 FHIR standard and the LOINC and
SNOMED CT medical coding systems to ensure interoperability and compatibility with modern
healthcare information systems. In addition, the system incorporates user authentication, access
control mechanisms, and secure management of personal health information. The results of this study
demonstrate that artificial intelligence techniques can effectively automate the creation of electronic
health records from heterogeneous medical documents, facilitating the secure management and
exchange of medical information between patients and healthcare professionals.
