Abstract

This Postgraduate Thesis presents fundamental information regarding Data Transfer Protocols. Specifically, it discusses their core functions, the primary methods and criteria used for their classification, as well as their most significant advantages and disadvantages. Subsequently, the Thesis explores Mesh Protocols, one of the key modern categories of Data Transfer Protocols. Particular emphasis is placed on their classification methods and their main strengths and weaknesses. Finally, a Case Study of the 'Zigbee' mesh protocol is examined and analyzed, based on research and experimental data.
