The thesis examines the strategic integration of Project Management (PM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) and the ways in which their alignment enhances organizational performance and competitive advantage.
Initially, it presents the fundamental principles of project management, the project life cycle, and its five phases, emphasizing their connection to overall business strategy. It then analyzes the core functions of human resource management, the challenges it faces, and project staffing design, as well as the role of HR at each stage of the project life cycle.
The study further explores the strategic convergence of PM and HRM, focusing on stakeholder management, project leadership, and the ways in which HR practices contribute to project success. The case study of Miele Hellas and the integration of the Aegean Cluster provides practical insights into the application of both fields, highlighting positive outcomes in employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and overall project success.
The thesis concludes that the effective alignment of PM and HRM constitutes a critical factor for organizational success, offering a comprehensive framework for organizations seeking to strategically integrate project management and human resource management in complex projects.
