This study examines the relationship between digital transformation and human resource management, highlighting the human dimension as a critical success factor in organizations’ transition to the digital era. The main objective is to explore how employees perceive the process of digital transformation, the role played by Human Resource Management (HRM) in supporting it, as well as the challenges that arise within the context of organizational change.
The theoretical framework is based on international literature concerning digital transformation, business models, and HRM strategies. It explores the technological, organizational, and cultural dimensions of this transition, while emphasizing the importance of leadership, culture, and digital skills in the effective integration of technology. Furthermore, it presents contemporary research approaches that confirm that technological innovation delivers value only when accompanied by the active engagement and empowerment of human capital. In addition, the study includes an empirical investigation through a structured questionnaire aimed at assessing employees’ attitudes toward the digital transition of organizations.
The study concludes that digital transformation cannot be achieved solely through technological investments but requires a holistic approach that combines strategy, leadership, and human-centered management. HRM is called upon to take an active role as a strategic partner, enhancing the development of digital skills, collaboration culture, and organizational learning. The research contributes by highlighting the need for balance between technological progress and human adaptability, an equilibrium that constitutes the foundation for a sustainable and successful digital transformation.
