This thesis investigates the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enabling the development of smart 5G networks and driving business transformation within the telecommunications sector. Its primary objective is to identify strategies that facilitate the effective integration of advanced technologies, while simultaneously examining the process of digital transformation through the case study of a leading telecommunications provider. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive review of contemporary literature, industry reports, and international strategies in mobile networks, with particular emphasis on the convergence of 5G and AI. In addition, secondary data from Vodafone were analyzed to map the stages of digital transformation, assess operational benefits, and highlight the challenges arising from the adoption of innovative technologies. The findings reveal that the strategic deployment of AI-enabled 5G networks enhances operational efficiency, enables service personalization, and supports the creation of new revenue streams. However, successful implementation requires not only technological and organizational readiness but also the integration of ethical considerations and alignment with sustainable development practices.
