This study investigates the role of project management principles in enhancing Logistics resilience within supply-chain-intensive environments, particularly under the disruptive pressures of pandemic-related crises and digital transformation.
Drawing on systems theory, contingency theory, and resilience engineering, the research sets out a conceptual framework in which practices of project management are considered structured inputs to resilience outcomes, and risk management and communication practices as potential mediators and contextual stressors, such as the impact of the Covid-19 virus and artificial intelligence (AI) as moderators.
A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was employed, using a structured questionnaire distributed to 61 professionals engaged in Logistics and project-based operations. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including independent-samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis, were applied to test the research questions.
The study offers to the literature, the integration of project management and supply chain resilience and the integration of organizational and individual perspectives of adaptability. It also contains useful insights for managers, on the importance of enshrining project management principles into resilience-building strategies, and on aligning digital transformation with governance frameworks.
