This thesis presents the design and implementation of a decontamination project on an industrial facility from hazardous waste in order to be used as a new industrial unit. The presented case study concerns the work carried out to decontaminate four main areas of the facility. More specifically, it describes the sampling, sorting, repackaging, transportation, and environmentally sound management of waste, with priority given to protecting the environment and human health. The methodology developed is based on basic project management tools, using techniques aimed at developing a comprehensive work plan, timetables, an effective communication plan, and a detailed risk management plan. MS Project software was used to develop and monitor the project, while supporting software and bibliographic data were used to create the communication plan and risk management plan. The above methodology and project management practices contributed to the comprehensive implementation of the project, ensuring not only its completion within budget and on schedule, but also the proper use of resources and its sustainable implementation. The main conclusion of the thesis is the importance of the comprehensive development of a communication plan with all stakeholders, as well as the integration of sustainability as a strategic development tool for companies. The thesis highlights not only the technical and economic approach to projects, but also the environmental and social approach.
