| dc.description.abstract | Η ραγδαία ανάπτυξη των τεχνολογιών πληροφορικής και επικοινωνιών έχει καταστήσει την κυβερνοασφάλεια έναν από τους σημαντικότερους πυλώνες της ψηφιακής εποχής. Στόχος της παρούσας πτυχιακής εργασίας είναι η διερεύνηση της συμβολής των διαγωνισμών τύπου Capture The Flag (CTF) στην εκπαίδευση και την ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων στον τομέα της ασφάλειας πληροφοριακών συστημάτων. Αρχικά παρουσιάζεται το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο των CTF και της πλατφόρμας CTFd, ενώ στη συνέχεια αναλύονται αναλυτικά προκλήσεις που σχεδιάστηκαν και υλοποιήθηκαν σε διάφορες κατηγορίες (κρυπτογραφία, στεγανογραφία, pwn, web exploitation, miscellaneous). Για κάθε πρόκληση παρουσιάζεται η μεθοδολογία υλοποίησης, η διαδικασία επίλυσης και τα απαραίτητα μέτρα remediation. Τέλος, διατυπώνονται συμπεράσματα σχετικά με την παιδαγωγική αξία των CTF, καθώς και προτάσεις για περαιτέρω αξιοποίηση τους στο πλαίσιο της ακαδημαϊκής εκπαίδευσης. | el |

| dc.description.abstractEN | The rapid development of information and communication technologies has rendered cybersecurity one of the most critical pillars of the digital era. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the role of Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions in education and in the development of skills in the field of information systems security. Initially, the theoretical background of CTFs and the CTFd platform is presented. Subsequently, a set of challenges that were designed and implemented across various categories (cryptography, steganography, pwn, web exploitation, miscellaneous) are analyzed in detail. For each challenge, the methodology of implementation, the solving process, and the necessary remediation measures are discussed. Finally, conclusions are drawn regarding the pedagogical value of CTFs, along with suggestions for their further integration into academic curricula. | el |
