The complex modern business environment requires efficient project management, and a holistic approach covering different aspects. The assessment of projects and investments is a very complex process, with considerable uncertainty, especially about the level of financial and sustainability. A variety of economic, commercial, production assumptions, and its conclusions are necessary. Investing requires understanding the project concept, the identity and strategy of the company and the market environment.
The present dissertation delves into the application of hybrid Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector and examines how integration of several PMO principles can optimize the entire life cycle of a project, including its conception, design, construction, delivery and post-delivery usage. By adapting and aligning various management frameworks, project teams can support a structured workflow that increases operational efficiency and leads to tangible results that are easily shared and understood.
The study examines topics using an analytical and descriptive approach, such as the establishment of an organizational framework, the assessment of the viability of a proposed project and the implementation of good project management practices.
Drawing on first-hand experience, thesis attempts to highlight that architecture projects involve much more than design; they rely heavily on robust management strategies.
“Construction projects are a combination of creation and order”.
