The first chapter of the thesis discusses the steps taken and the challenges of technological modernization in production and the specialization of workers in various sectors, focusing on robotics, artificial intelligence, and telecommuting. The second chapter addresses the conditions of labor automation both at the European and Greek levels. It also explores the ethical challenges that businesses will face when adopting organizational innovations, as well as the challenges employees will encounter in remaining functional in the era of the 4th industrial revolution while also ensuring their labor rights. The third chapter outlines the legal framework for the protection of workers' rights at both international and EU levels, and additionally examines the relevant provisions of Greek law that apply in conjunction with these. Finally, the fourth chapter focuses on the balance between the right to personal data protection for employees and the employer’s managerial rights, as well as the principles for weighing these rights when they conflict.
