In this paper reference is made to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the effects of its reforms
in Greece and specifically how it is linked to the Natura protected areas, and the agricultural
production that exists within these areas. In order to be able to understand what exactly the CAP
is, we will examine, through a literature review, from its creation until today, we will deepen the
assessment of its new data that will come due to the radical changes promoted by the European
Union with its effort to be included in the framework of the Green Deal. Another equally important
thing presented in the survey is the one referring to Natura protected areas. This section deals with
issues related to protected areas, categorizes them and highlights the ways they should be managed
by society. It also focuses on the characteristics of the Natura network in Europe and Greece as
well as on the ecological – environmental dimensions resulting from their institutionalization.
Furthermore, the literature review deals with the Dadia Forest National Park and how it is linked
to smart farming by Greek farmers who want to develop economically in combination with the
best possible use of its resources. Was chosen a livestock farming for the beekeeping sector. In the
forest of Dadia, several products are produced with smart methods of precision agriculture. This
leads us to increase organic farming and implement it under the Green Deal. To sum up, all the
above aim to protect the biodiversity of ecosystems as they are developed with environmentally
friendly practices and are active in sustainable development frameworks.
