The present study aims to evaluate the factors that influence job satisfaction, to understand the overall levels of job satisfaction of nursing staff of the General Hospital of Athens "Georgios Gennimatas", and to identify possible areas for improvement of the work environment. The research design used a quantitative approach, as a quantitative survey was conducted alongside the literature review through statistical analysis. A structured questionnaire was used for the survey and distributed to nursing staff. The data collected from the survey was subjected to a series of statistical analyses. It emerged that the average job satisfaction of nurses in Greek hospitals is moderate and needs improvement. Factors affecting satisfaction include work environment and socio-demographic characteristics of nurses such as seniority, age and marital status. These factors require a comprehensive approach for proper analysis of job satisfaction.
