The aim of this dissertation was to analyze the case of energy security in Europe and the role that Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) can play in enhancing and maintaining this security, taking into account the important role of LNG as an alternative fuel in shipping, as well as the role of the shipping industry in transporting LNG and how this can benefit the European economy and environmental protection. There is no doubt that energy is the most important commodity and energy sectors are the most important industrial sectors for national economies and the global economy as a whole, thereby driving countries and regions to take measures to enhance adequate energy reserves and their overall energy security.
