This thesis occurs in a period of constant change in all areas with which man interacts. In a critical period for humanity, human faces an unimaginable variety of challenges and opportunities. On the other hand, he faces a lot of risks that shape his life at all levels. The speed and development of technology, lifestyle changes, social and cultural changes, and global challenges are just some of the complex issues facing modern society.
Technology has entered the everyday life of people, for thousands of years. Over the millennia, it has evolved rapidly and especially in recent years, it is obvious that there are technological leaps from day to day.
The rapid development of technology has led today's society to an era of digitalization. Starting from the development sector and passing through economy, health, education, culture and entertainment, digital transformation has shaped new challenges and opportunities.
The thesis that will be presented below aims to examine and understand the impact of digital transformation in the health sector. With the rapid pace of technological advancement and the development of digital tools, the healthcare sector is shaping up to be a dynamic and innovative space. Digital technology has broken down the boundaries of traditional medicine, enabling the development of advanced diagnostic methods, real-time health monitoring and the creation of personalized treatments. At the same time, digital transformation is also affecting the provision of health services, facilitating access to areas with unfavorable geographical restrictions and improving communication between doctors and patients.
In this context, this thesis aims to understand and exploit the possibilities of digital transformation in the health sector. Through diverse aspects such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence, big data, electronic patient records and mobile health. It will explore how digital innovations can enhance the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Also, as part of this thesis, a research was conducted, that aims to highlight the adoption of new technologies in the healthcare sector in Greece.
Bearing in mind, the above, this thesis aims to answer questions about digital transformation. What is digital transformation? How does digital transformation affect the Healthcare sector? What is the relationship of consumers with new technologies? What tools related to digital health do consumers use?
