Keeping the definition of a system in mind, we can say that the "health system" is the collection of health units that are continuously cooperating and sharing their resources to ensure the public's health. It is common practice to identify and forecast the health system by looking at the mechanism by which medical treatment is provided.
Although it has been established that the health system is synonymous with the medical care system, it is in fact much more than that, as it includes not only traditional medical care but also services related to prevention and health treatment, family planning, and nutrition, as it has been shown that health is impacted by a number of factors and that disease can only be effectively treated through intersectoral collaboration.
It's important to note that nowadays, health is defined as more than simply the absence of illness; it also includes a person's emotional and social stability. As such, the medical care system and medical care are components of the health care system. It will subsequently be found that the Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the most revealing way that health systems, both internationally and especially for Greece, they have not been structured in such a way that it is able to deal effectively with pandemics, and that adjustments are needed.
