This Thesis will examine the civil liability from the applications of Artificial Intelligence in medicine after reviewing the relevant literature and case law. The first chapter will introduce Artificial Intelligence, its types and tools, as well as the legislative initiatives of the European Union regarding its applications. The second chapter will set out the applications of Artificial Intelligence in medicine. The third chapter will analyse the concept of medical liability, define medical malpractice and set out the legal framework in case of patient harm caused by the use of new technologies. In addition, reference will be made to the legislative initiatives of the European Union regarding the applications of Artificial Intelligence. In addition, reference will be made to the recent initiatives of the European Union to address this issue. The fourth chapter will examine the ethical and social implications of Artificial Intelligence in medicine. The paper will conclude with conclusions and a critical review in order to assess overall civil liability when performing medical acts in relation to Artificial Intelligence.
