The purpose of this master’s dissertation is to investigate the opinions of active teachers, principals and vice-principals of secondary education of intercultural schools on issues of interculturality. In particular, the role and specific characteristics of the school leader of the intercultural unit are examined in relation to the smooth operation of the school and the learning conditions, the formation and promotion of the intercultural culture as well as the effective handling of intercultural crises within the school. This thesis presents a quantitative research involving 104 teachers, principals and vice-principals of intercultural secondary schools who responded to an electronic questionnaire. The data were processed and their statistical analysis was done, where the conclusions were drawn. The most important conclusion of the research is that the leadership of the intercultural school, with the main characteristic of emotional intelligence, is the key role, it is the one that promotes learning, the improvement of learning, the intercultural culture, but also the one that acts significantly and directly in dealing with the school intercultural conflicts.
