Responding to COVID-19 includes not only shielding corporate jobs, supporting entrepreneurship and increasing public debt, but also creating productive entrepreneurship and resilient location-based business ecosystems. The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented challenge for businesses that also brings new market opportunities.
In fact, the pandemic has significantly affected European and non-European companies. Millions of businesses have lost their planned revenues and millions of jobs have been violated. The economic mechanism does not allow the processes to end without impact on its future and when the economy stops, many business ties stop, temporarily or permanently.
As a patchwork of the above, human resource management and employee performance are inevitably affected, as companies, in order to maintain their viability, had to make drastic decisions and use a variety of methods and techniques, with remote work being the most common. In this paper we will study the issue of human resource management and how it affects employee performance with particular reference to the effects of the pandemic on both business and the economy.
