Abstract
The evolution of the economy and trade has brought major changes in the logistics
department and in the supporting methods of them and transportation. The following
chapters will analyze the logistics and transportation systems of the world's largest
exporter, China.
First a brief overview of China's political development is given . A division is made into
two time periods from 1949 to 1979 and 1979 until today, in order to distinguish the
change of strategy. Following comes the Belt and Road Initiative. In particular, the
cooperating countries and the routes executed by the trains in these infrastructures are
described. It also describes the various advantages that result from this, its progress
towards digitization as well as a SWOT analysis. The BRI is complemented by MSRI that
is responsible for maritime transport. To be more specific here are described its purposes
as well as some concerns about it. Additionaly are projected the various means of
transport that are responsible for transporting goods within China as well as their
supporting infrastructures aiming at optimizing and operating them smoothly. Eventually
information is given about the ways in which e-commerce is carried out, structures that
allow it to operate for many "players", its advantages in the modern market and the
reasons for its success.
Frοm the analysis of the above it is possible to understand the way and methods that the d
epartment of logistics and transport of China has developed.
