The structure of the work consists of two parts. In the first part, the theoretical framework of the research is analyzed. More specifically, the 1st chapter analyzes the conceptual definitions of self-sufficiency, stress and information and communication technologies (ICT). The advantages of integrating ICT into the school unit and in particular supporting the administrative process are also mentioned. In Chapter 2, emphasis is placed on research data on self-sufficiency and the stress of managers on the use of ICT in support of management. The relationship between self-sufficiency and ICT is also clarified. An analysis of the administration of the school units as well as the use of ICT in the administration is carried out. Finally, an attempt is made to carry out a summary review of previous research referring to the self-sufficiency and stress of ICT use in the school unit.
The second part of the work relates to the framework of empirical research. In the 3rd chapter there is an analysis of the methodological design of quantitative research. The survey participants-sample and the research tool used to conduct the questionnaire are identified. It is also analyzed how the design and procedure of the research was carried out, the research hypotheses are concretized, the statistical analysis is presented and finally the reliability check of the scales, which were used in the questionnaire, with the internal Reliability Index Cronbach's alpha. The 4th chapter lists the results of quantitative research through statistical analyses and data which are also linked to research hypotheses. There is also a correlation check between the variables used. Finally, in the 5th chapter there is a discussion of the results of the research as well as the conclusions that emerged from it. The limitations that arose during the investigation process are also mentioned and finally proposals are made for further investigation.
Given the rapid development of ICT, it is necessary to investigate the degree of self-sufficiency and stress of school unit managers regarding the use of ICT in supporting the administrative process, thus aiming at improving the prevailing culture and improving the effectiveness of the administrative work of school unit managers. Also, this work aims to research and collect data related to the primary education sector, thus covering a wide range of education, as the results of previous surveys show some conflicting results. Its purpose is to establish the degree of security that school unit managers feel during their interaction with ICT in support of school unit administration. In addition, it tries to compare the results of this survey with older surveys in order to find changes in the mentality of managers, as there are the new data of the covid-19 pandemic.
