In recent decades in the international arena, the issue of educational administration and leadership has been at the center of many modern educational systems, as it is considered to be directly related to the operation and efficiency of educational organizations.
In the present work, the aim is to investigate the exercise of internal educational policy in secondary education, as well as the assumption of the managerial role by women and consequently the imprint they leave in the daily life of the school organization. The educational unit within the framework of the relevant autonomy can dynamically express its criticism of the educational policy that is formed centrally, but also to organize its own "internal" educational policy. Career opportunities should be offered with objective criteria to those who have the opportunity to meet the increased demands of modern education, while at the same time it will be possible to adapt to a changing educational environment to all teachers, regardless of gender
Our purpose is to list the need for women as principals, to analyze the leadership style or styles they use to implement educational policy, as well as the difficulties they may face in implementing it. In addition, an effort will be made to investigate and record the factors, mainly supportive, that influenced the progress of the directors towards taking the position they hold in order to promote the vision of gender and equality.
For the above reasons, the research that will be carried out will concern the qualitative approach with the tool of the semi-structured interview, trying to give answers to the above questions. In the effort to validate and validate the results of the research, the interviews that will be conducted will concern both female principals and male principals who hold or have previously held the managerial role in Secondary Education.
Finally, as evidenced by our research below, principals are faced with a variety of issues that they are called upon to address on a daily basis in the administration of the school unit and in the decision-making process. In recent years, there has also been a decline in the under-representation of women in managerial positions and gender discrimination in them. In the bigger picture, however, it is understood that yes, stereotypes tend to decrease, but this does not mean that they cease and exist.
