In this dissertation an e-course was designed and implemented for the mathematics lesson of the 6th grade of elementary school for the unit of decimal numbers. The training model on which this design was based was ARCS, based on its four components, which are:
1. Attention.
2. Relevance.
3. Confidence.
4. Satisfaction.
Also, this e-course was based, in terms of its content, on the following three mathematical teaching games:
1. The numbers intersect.
2. Get to the edge.
3. Addition tournament.
In the research that was done, it was studied whether the teaching games of mathematics in the elementary school class, can improve the performance of the students, their motivation and their satisfaction for the specific learning object.
Our research involved 37 sixth grade students from three primary schools in the areas of Artemis, Rafina and Spata. A questionnaire was used as a research tool.
The statistical criteria used were the following:
1. Use of descriptive statistics indicators, such as mean, median, standard deviation, max and min.
2. Frequency analysis.
3. Cronbach΄s Alpha reliability analysis.
4. Shapiro-Wilk regularity check.
5. One-Sample T Test.
6. One-Sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.
Our research showed the following results:
1. There is no clear improvement in the performance of sixth grade elementary school students in mathematics when they are taught through teaching games.
2. There is no clear improvement in the motivation of sixth grade elementary school students about math when they are taught through teaching games.
3. There is a clear improvement in the satisfaction of sixth grade elementary school students with mathematics when they are taught through teaching games.
